In 2008 Stretch Tents developed a revolutionary new fabric called MultiStretch FR™ for manufacturing Stretch Tents.
MultiStretch FR™ is produced in Europe to the world’s highest standards, meeting New Zealand and Australian fire standard AS1530.2, European standard NF P 92-507 (2004) and California AC Title 19, section 1237 for membrane structures and is 100% waterproof.
Our tents are made in New Zealand using state of the art welding techniques alongside traditional sail-making craftmanship, something we’re proud of in this sailing-mad country!
We now cover New Zealand with eight Stretch Tents hire business partners and have developed a business model from real business experience in the Stretch Tents hire industry.
We first started exporting tents into Australia in 2012, followed quickly by the Pacific Islands and are now selling world-wide. We believe our tents stand up to any similar product anywhere in the world.
Since 2009, we have been supplying our Stretch Tents Marquess to our hire partners in NZ, corporates, venues, community organisations, festivals and the general public. We supply fire and structural certification with all our tents and a full set of training manuals for erecting the tents. If required we can come to you and train on site.
In 2009 our first Stretch Tents hire business partner, Stretch Tents Central, came on board.

Superior Materials
Our fabric, MultiStretch FR™, has been developed exclusively for Stretch Tents, The end result meets NZ structural certification up to 1000 sqm. From rigging equipment, poles, pegs, custom made pole rubbers, webbings, etc – all materials used in the manufacturing of our tents have been tested since 2009.

New Zealand made is about a hands-on commitment to innovative design, quality of materials and attention to detail. Stretch Tents believe with these commitments we have a product that will stand up to any Stretch Tents, Bedouin Tents or Freeform tents manufactured globally.
Waterproof
Stretch Tents are 100% waterproof. MultiStretch FR™ fabric has been tested by using a water head testing procedure. Combined with our hybrid seaming technique using the latest welding technology creates a 100% waterproof seam.
Fire Retardant
MultiStretch FR™ fabric has a fire retardant added in the production of the fabric and has been tested to meet the New Zealand and Australian fire standard AS1530.2, European standard NF P 92-507 (2004) and California AC Title 19, section 1237 for membrane structures making them safe and legal for any event.
Custom Made
After years of substantial R&D investment, we offer Stretch Tents of the highest quality. From the development of our MultiStretch FR™ fabric, NZ sail-making techniques to hi-tech welding of the tents on a 20m long welding bay. Multi Stretch fabric comes in 1.5m wide rolls and can be cut down to accommodate almost any size of tent.

Our Stretch Tents for Purchase
Stretch Tents, also known as Freeform Tents or Bedouin Tents are an innovative take on traditional marques and gazebos. Our Stretch Tents use state of the art welding techniques alongside traditional sail-making craftsmanship. They are made of MultiStretch FR™ fabric formed into a rectangular shape, delivering a tent with waterproof welded inner panels (so no ‘stretched stitching’ leaking water) surrounded with super-robust reinforced seams.
When rigging they are pulled out on the ground then pegged according to your desired configuration. Poles are used to create the desired shape and space. Our system allows Stretch Tents to take on many different forms. They can be erected as freestanding structures or off existing buildings as a canopy rig. Stretch Tents have no restrictions like traditional marquess, they can be rigged on uneven surfaces and over obstacles, maximising the available space.
In short, you can put a Stretch Tent up just about anywhere!
Free-Standing Tents
These can be rigged 3 sides up, 2 sides up, 1 side up and four corners down (all sides up) giving you the ability to close your tent up if the weather is inclement or open it up when weather permits. A superior option to traditional PVC marquees.
Canopy Stretch Tents
These can be erected off existing buildings. The unique rigging system allows Stretch Tents to sit onto a roof providing a rain proof solution between the Stretch Tent and house or structure, allowing you to extend an existing area. View our gallery here.
Stretch Truss Skins
The same fabric and welding technology is used in our Truss Skins as in our Stretch Tents. The major difference is the edges of the skins; we have designed them to accommodate the trussed framing. Learn more.

Uniquely Engineered Fabrics
Our MultiStretch FR™ fabric is manufactured in Europe to the highest global standards. Fire retardant is included in production, meeting New Zealand and Australian fire standard AS1530.2, European standard NF P 92-507 (2004) and California AC Title 19, section 1237 for membrane structures. The fabric has two way stretch and memory to bring it back to its natural form. It’s 100% waterproof and has UV protection. Our stock fabric weight is 550gsm.
